Jim Bebla, Diocesan Secretary for Development, and Mary Theresa Vautrinot, Diocesan Secretary for Catholic Human Services, present Monsignor Joseph P. Kelly with a Papal Blessing in honor of the 50th anniversary of his ordination to the priesthood. Monsignor Kelly serves as the Director of the St. Francis of Assisi Kitchen.
These volunteers from the St. Francis of Assisi Free Clothing Outlet also recently served as “Host For The Day” at the St. Francis of Assisi Kitchen. The gesture and donation was done in memory of Dawn Brennan, who served as coordinator of the clothing outlet for 10 years prior to her passing last year. She is missed by both volunteers and clients. Shown, from left: Rose Cegelka, Neil Donahue, Ron Batts and Anne Smith. For information about the donation needs of the clothing outlet, call (570) 342-5556.
In the Catholic tradition and the spirit of our patron, St. Francis of Assisi, the hungry are fed in collaboration with volunteers and donors from all faith communities. The Kitchen provides a free, hot, nutritious meal to all our guests everyday of the year. Staff and volunteers strive to be of assistance to others and serve with a spirit of compassion, respect, and dignity.
